The Consumer Price Index in Northern Mindanao for the month of June 2020 registered at 127.1 which implies that the price of a basket of goods in June 2020 was 27.1 percent higher than its price in 2012.  The Consumer Price Index is an indicator of the change in the average retail prices of a fixed basket of goods and services commonly purchased by households relative to a base year.  Figure 1 shows the CPI for Northern Mindanao for May to

FARMGATE PRICES 
The average farmgate price of cereals declined in the fourth quarter of 2019. Palay or paddy rice was sold at the farm at PhP14.32 per kilo, down by PhP4.86 from the PhP19.18 price of the same period last year. Matured corn grain white likewise exhibited price setback of PhP2.43. It was bought from the farmers at 11.22 per kilo on the average. Meanwhile corn grain yellow was traded at PhP11.02

Results of the April 2020 Labor Force Survey shows that unemployment rate in the region registered at 11.1 percent. This is the highest recorded unemployment rate since 2005. Unemployment rate in January 2020 was reported at 3.2 percent while April 2019 unemployment rate posted at 5.0 percent.
