Camiguin Economy Declines in 2020 by 11.7 Percent

The economy of Camiguin contracted by 11.7 percent in 2020. This was mainly driven by the recorded declines in Accommodation and food service activities at -39.2 percent, Transportation and Storage at -59.8 percent), and Other services at -39.4 percent. This performance was a total opposite in 2019 as the province registered a 7.1 percent growth. The top fast-growing industries in 2019 were: Accommodation and food service activities, 17.8 percent; Education, 17.4 percent; and Other services, 17.2 percent.

Misamis Oriental’s Economy Declines by 11.2% in 2020

The major contributors to the economy of Misamis Oriental were Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, Manufacturing, and Agriculture, forestry, and fishing based on 2018 to 2020 annual average share of 20.0 percent, 18.3 percent, and 13.4 percent, respectively. Among the major industries, services shared the highest three-year average share of              46.3 percent, followed by Industry at 40.3 percent.

DTI X, DOLE X and BFP X Reps Top 32nd NSM Inter-Agency Statistics Quiz Show

Mr. Jayquel S. Peñaloga, Planning Officer of the Department of Trade & Industry (DTI), was the champion of the Inter-Agency Statistics Quiz Show conducted virtually during the 32nd NSM Closing Ceremony held on 29 October 2021. Other winners were Ms. Hannah Marie E. Arreza, Statistician II of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) who placed Second and Ms. April Princess Maye P. Catubig, Administrative Clerk of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) finishing Third Place.
