2021 Annual Labor Market Statistics of Northern Mindanao

Northern Mindanao registered the highest labor force participation rate (LFPR) of 69.8 percent nationwide in 2021. This translates to a total number of 2.410 million individuals who were 15 years old and over and were either employed or unemployed in the year 2021. This LFPR is higher by 3.5 percentage points than the 2020 annual estimate which registered at 66.3 percent. Also, this regional LFPR is higher by 6.5 percentage points than the national estimate of 63.3 percent.

Highlights of the 2020 Labor Market Statistics for Northern Mindanao

Total Labor Force in 2020 Contracts by 1.3 Percent
 
Out of the 3.372 million total population 15 years old and over in Region X in 2020, a total of 2.237 million persons were in the labor force.  This translates to a 1.3 percent decrease or a reduction of 29,298 persons from 2.266 million persons in the labor force a year ago. Labor force represents the economically active population, either employed or unemployed.

PSA X to Conduct the July 2019 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and 2019 Annual Poverty Indicators Survey (APIS)

 
The Philippine Statistics Authority X (PSA –X) will conduct the July 2019 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and 2019 Annual Poverty Indicators Survey (APIS) this July 8-31, 2019 in its five provinces, namely; Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental and Misamis Oriental.
 
A total of 2,568 systematically and randomly selected sample households in Region X were identified as respondents. Around 37 Hired Statistical Researchers will be deployed across the region to conduct the interviews.
