The economy of the City of Iligan grew by 5.7 percent in 2023, slower than the 7.6 percent growth posted in the previous year. The economic expansion of the city translated to an increase in the value of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from PhP 77.01 billion in 2022 to PhP 81.44 billion in 2023. (Figure 1)

The following industries posted double-digit growths in 2023: Accommodation and food service activities with 23.8 percent, Transportation and storage with 21.4 percent, Construction with 15.8 percent, Public administration and defense; compulsory social security with 11.7 percent, Other services with 10.8 percent, Electricity, steam, water and waste management with 10.6 percent, and Education with 10.3 percent. On the other hand, Mining and quarrying, Manufacturing, and Agriculture, forestry, and fishing experienced contractions, declining by 1.1 percent, 5.6 percent, and 6.9 percent, respectively.
