Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Misamis Oriental Provincial Office, in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) initiated the conduct of the 2023 National Information and Communications Technology Household Survey (NICTHS).
The first NICTHS was spearheaded by DICT together with the Philippine Statistical Research and Training Institute (PSRTI) in 2019, and this year the 2023 NICTHS will be led by PSA and DICT.
The 2023 NICTHS provides invaluable data for policymakers, industry stakeholders, and researchers, enabling informed decision-making and targeted interventions to promote digital inclusion and innovation.
After the Second Level Training last January 22- 26, 2024, PSO Misamis Oriental conducted the Third Level Training on January 29 – February 01, 2024 at the PSA Misamis Oriental Training Room, Limketkal Module 2 Building, 3rd Floor, Barangay 31, Cagayan de Oro City. It was participated by 12 participants including the PSA Mis Or. Chief Statistical Specialist, Ms. Maria Liza M. Bigornia; Regional Focal Person, Ms. Christine T. Gallopin; personnel from the Central Office, Senior Statistical Specialist (SSO-SSSS-LSRSD) Mr. Jameson M. Miralles; Provincial Assistant Focal Person Merlie T. Montera; 2 Team Supervisors; and 6 Statistical Researchers.
The field operation of the 2023 NICTHS started on February 05, 2024 and will end on March 06, 2024. In the province of Misamis Oriental, there are 56 sample barangays and 792 sample households and individuals. The survey utilizes the use of Computer-Aided Personal Interview (CAPI) system for the 3 questionnaires comprised of Barangay Questionnaire, Household Questionnaire and Individual Questionnaire.
The implementation of the 2023 NICTHS will be handled by the Philippine Statistics Authority, mandated under Republic Act No. 10625 (The Philippine Statistical Act of 2013), as the central statistical authority of the Philippine government on primary data collection.
In view of this, PSA Misamis Oriental urge each official in the sample barangays and members of the sample households and individuals to participate and provide truthful and accurate information for the success of the 2023 NICTHS in the province.
