The headline inflation in the Province of Bukidnon for August 2023 is higher at 6.1 percent from 5.7 percent in July 2023. The Inflation rate in August 2022 was higher at 6.5 percent. The year-to-date inflation rate is recorded at 7.2 percent.
The main sources of acceleration for August 2023 inflation rate are the following commodity groups: Education Services at 17.9 percent from 0.8 percent; Recreation, Sport and Culture 7.0 percent from 4.0 percent and Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages at 8.5 percent from 7.1 percent.
Some Selected Food Items that showed higher inflation are Vegetables, Tubers, Plantains, Cooking Bananas, and Pulses at 26.6 percent from 16.9 percent; Rice 9.1 percent from 2.8 percent; Flour, Bread and Other Bakery Products, Pasta Products, and other Cereals at 11.4 percent from 9.6 percent.
Other food items that recorded a lower inflation were Milk, Other Dairy Products and Eggs at 11.2 percent, Sugar, Confectionery and Desserts at 30.4 percent, Oils and Fats at 23.9 percent and Corn at 2.0 percent.
