In the second phase of August 2024, the average retail prices of rice experienced stability except for special rice. The price of special rice slightly increase to PhP 58.67 per kilogram from PhP 58.50. Moreover, well-milled rice maintained its average retail price at PhP 52.50 per kilogram and also the price of regular milled rice maintained at PhP 47.50 per kilogram during this period.

Moreover, well-milled rice maintained its average retail price at PhP 52.50 per kilogram and also the price of regular milled rice maintained at PhP 47.50 per kilogram during this period.

In the second phase of July 2024, the average retail prices of rice experienced a slight decline. The price of special rice decreased to PhP 58.90 per kilogram, well milled rice to PhP 53.50 per kilogram, and regular milled rice to PhP 49.50 per kilogram during this period .

In the second phase of July 2024, the average retail prices of rice showed stability. Special rice retained its price at PhP 59.00 per kilogram, well-milled rice stayed at PhP 53.50 per kilogram, and regular milled rice remained steady at PhP 50.00 per kilogram throughout this period.

The CPI in Misamis Occidental for the month of June 2024 increased at 126.4 from 126.1 in the previous month. A CPI of 126.4 implies that the same basket of goods and services worth 100 pesos in 2018 had increased by 26.4 percent in June 2024. Compared to the CPI recorded in the months of May and June 2023, it increased from 123.0 and 122.6 to 126.1 and 126.4 in May and June 2024, respectively. The total number of constructions from approved building permits for the year 2023 reached 2,565. This indicates an annual increase of 13.2 percent from 2,266 total number of constructions in 2022.

During the second phase of June 2024, average retail prices of rice seemed unchanged. Special rice slightly go down from PhP 59.50 to PhP 59.00 per kilogram, well milled rice maintained at PhP 53.50 per kilogram and regular milled rice at PhP 50.00 per kilogram during the said reference period.

During the second phase of May 2024, the average retail prices of rice maintained except for special rice which increase to PhP 59.00 per kilogram from PhP 58.70. Well milled rice was still at PhP 52.50 per kilogram and regular milled rice at PhP 48.50 per kilogram during the said reference period.

Compared to CPI recorded in the months of April and May 2022, it increased from 115.5 and 116.2 to 121.9 and 123.0 in April and May 2023, respectively.
