The City of Cagayan de Oro posted a headline inflation or overall inflation of 4.4 percent in May 2024, which was faster by 0.4 percentage point in April 2024 at 4.0 percent. Consequently, the city average inflation rate from January 2024 to May 2024 recorded at 3.4 percent. Furthermore, the city inflation was higher by 0.5 percentage point than the national inflation rate of 3.9 percent, and lower by 0.3 percentage point than the regional inflation rate of 4.7 percent.

The headline inflation or overall inflation of Misamis Oriental was recorded at 4.9 percent in May 2024, which was faster than in April 2024 at 4.6 percent. This brought about a 4.1 percent provincial average inflation rate from January 2024 to May 2024. During the month, provincial inflation was higher by 1.0 percentage point than the national inflation rate of 3.9 percent and by 0.2 percentage point than the regional inflation rate of 4.7 percent.

The Province of Misamis Oriental posted faster headline inflation or overall inflation in April 2024 at 4.5 percent than in March 2024 at 3.8 percent. This results in a 3.9 percent provincial average inflation rate from January 2024 to April 2024. In April 2024, provincial inflation was higher by 0.7 percentage point than the national inflation rate of 3.8 percent. Meanwhile, it was the same as the regional inflation rate during the month.

Cagayan de Oro City, a 1st class highly urbanized city in the region of Northern Mindanao showed an increase in the inflation rate, which reached to 3.3 percent in the month of March 2024. An increase of 0.6 percentage point was seen from previous month of the same year. On the other hand, the inflation rate slowed down to almost double compared to the same month of year 2023 which is 6.5 percent.

The headline inflation or overall inflation of Misamis Oriental posted a slower rate in March 2024 at 3.8 percent compared to the inflation rates in March 2023 at 8.3 percent, and February 2024 at 4.0 percent. This brings the provincial average inflation from January 2024 to March 2024 at 3.7 percent. During the same period, it was higher by 0.1 percentage point than the national inflation rate of 3.7 percent. In contrast, it was 0.1 percentage point lower than the regional inflation rate at 3.9 percent.

The inflation rate of the City of Cagayan de Oro registered 2.7 percent in February 2024, lower than the regional and national rate which were both at 3.4 percent. Also, it was slower than the 7.5 percent inflation rate in February 2023.

The Province of Misamis Oriental recorded a headline inflation rate of 4.0 percent in February 2024, a faster rate than the January 2024 inflation at 3.4 percent. Hence, the provincial average inflation rate from January 2024 to February 2024 was at 3.7 percent. Furthermore, the provincial inflation rate was higher than the regional and national rate which were both at 3.4 percent.

The City of Cagayan de Oro recorded a headline inflation rate at 2.7 percent in January 2024, lower than the regional and national rates at 3.1 percent and 2.8 percent, respectively. The headline inflation rate slowed down since January 2023 parallel to the rates observed in Region X and in the whole country.

The Province of Misamis Oriental recorded a headline inflation rate of 3.4 percent in January 2024. This is higher than the regional and national rates of 3.1 percent and 2.8 percent, respectively. Similar to the regional and national trends, the province’s headline inflation rate decelerated since January 2023.
