Rice
In Misamis Occidental, a kilogram of special rice had an average retail price of PhP 59.00 during the first phase of February 2024 (01 to 05 February 2024). Compared with its average retail price of PhP 58.17 per kilogram in the second phase of January 2023 (15 to 17 January 2024). Moreover, the average retail price for the well milled rice was PhP 54.50 and regular milled rice PhP 51.00 during the first phase of February 2024. (Figure 1)
Meat and Poultry
A kilogram of beef with bones had an average retail price of PhP 270.00 during the first phase of February 2024, compared to the second phase of January 2024 which was PhP 265.00. The average retail price for pure meat of beef declined to PhP 386.00 per kilogram from PhP 391.00. Pork kasim was at PhP 287.50 during the second phase of January 2024 but at first phase of February it was at PhP 292.50 per kilogram, pork liempo was at PhP 316.00 per kilogram during the second phase of January 2024 but at first phase of February it was at PhP 311.00 per kilogram, and pork meat with bones was at PhP 200.00 per kilogram during the during the second phase of January 2024 but at first phase of February 2024 it was at PhP 205.00 per kilogram. Moreover, dressed chicken recorded a decline on its average retail price, from PhP 197.50 per kilogram during the second phase of January 2024 to PhP 177.50 per kilogram during the first phase of February 2024. Also, chicken egg (medium size) had a decline on average retail price from PhP 9.54 per piece during the second phase of January 2024 to PhP 9.29 per piece during the first phase of February 2024. Bangus
A kilogram of bangus in Misamis Occidental had an increase on its average retail price, from Php 180.00 to PhP 200.00 per kilogram during the first phase of February 2024. (see Figure 3)
Vegetables
In Misamis Occidental, the average retail price of Ampalaya during the first phase of February 2024 was PhP 75.00 per kilogram the same price as in the second phase of January 2024. Average retail price of cabbage, also maintained at PhP 90.00 per kilogram during the first phase of February 2024. Carrot recorded an average retail price of PhP 100.00 per kilogram during the first phase of February 2024, a declined relative to the average retail price of PhP 140.00 per kilogram during the second phase of January 2024. A kilogram of eggplant was at PhP 60.00 during the first phase of February 2024. This showed a decrease of Php 5.00 per kilogram relative to its previous average retail price per kilogram during the second phase of January 2024. Average retail price of Baguio beans was at PhP 80.00 per kilogram. Petchay (Native) at PhP 90.00 per kilogram, a decrease of PhP 5.00 per kilogram relative to its previous average retail price per kilogram during the second phase of January 2024. String beans at PhP 60.00 per kilogram and Tomato at PhP 90.00 per kilogram maintained their average retail price. While, White Potato decreased by PhP 50.00 per kilogram, from PhP 195.00 to PhP 145.00 per kilogram during the first phase of Febraury 2024. (see Figure 4)
Condiments
The average retail price of native garlic in Misamis Occidental is at PhP 150.00 per kilogram during the first phase of February 2024, same average retail price relative to second phase of January 2024. Also, Hawaiian ginger maintained an average retail price of PhP 85.00 per kilogram during the first phase of February 2024. (see Figure 5)
Fruits
A lakatan banana had an average retail price of PhP 46.00 in Misamis Occidental during the first phase of February 2024, same average retail price relative to second phase of January 2024. Also, Latundan banana had an average retail price PhP 25.00 during the first phase of February 2024, same average retail price relative to second phase of January 2024. However, Papaya had an average retail price of PhP 47.50 per kilogram during the first phase of February 2024. This showed an increase of PhP 2.50 relative to second phase of January 2024 of PhP 45.00 per kilogram. (see Figure 6)
Other Commodities
The average retail price of cooking oil was at PhP 163.92 per liter during the first phase of February 2024, same average retail price relative to second phase of January 2024. While brown sugar increased its average retail price to PhP 62.00 per kilogram during the first phase of February 2024, also, refined sugar had an increased on its average retail price to PhP 76.50 per kilogram during the first phase of February 2024. (see Figure 7)
