The headline inflation of Province of Misamis Oriental has increased to 5.2 percent in June 2022, from 4.2 percent in the previous month. The inflation rate in June 2021 was lower at 4.9 percent. (Table A and Figure 1)
The increase of the province’s inflation was primarily influenced by the higher annual increase in the index for Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels at
7.3 percent; Transport at 16.1 percent; Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages at 4.0 percent; Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco at 3.7 percent.
Meanwhile, annual increase slowed down in the indices of furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance at 4.9 percent; Clothing and Foot wears at 3.2 percent. The rest of the commodity groups either retained their previous month’s inflation rates or had zero percent annual growths. (Table B)
