Bukidnon

The headline inflation in the Province of Bukidnon for March 2023 remained at 8.5 percent. The Inflation rate recorded in March 2022 was lower at 4.4 percent. The average inflation for the first quarter of 2023 is at 8.4 percent.

Selected Food items with higher inflation were Oil and Fats at 17.3 percent for March 2023 from 13.3 percent for February 2023; Milk, Other Dairy Products, and Eggs at 10.7 percent from 5.6 percent; Fish and other Seafood at 11.7 percent from 10.6 percent and Ready-Made Food and Other Food Products at 8.7 percent from 6.3 percent. Other Food Groups that showed lower inflation were Vegetables, Tubers, Plantains, Cooking Bananas and Pulses at 15 percent from 33.4 percent, Sugar, Confectionery and Desserts at 43 percent from 57.9 percent, Meat and Other Parts of Slaughtered Land Animals at 13.5 percent from 14.5 percent, Corn at 8.7 percent from 10.5 percent and Rice at -0.4 percent from 3.7 percent.

The acceleration in Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other fuel commodity group was attributed to the Actual Rentals for Housing at 16.7 percent and Electricity, Gas and other Fuels at 14.9 percent. Clothing and Footwear commodity group also showed a higher inflation at 8.0 percent attributed to the subgroup Clothing at 10.5 percent.

Commodity Groups that showed higher inflation:

a. Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, 7.6 percent
b. Clothing and Footwear, 8.0 percent
c. Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels, 14.8 percent
d. Furnishing, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance, 2.7 percent
e. Health, 5.0 percent
f. Information and Communication, 2.1 percent
g. Recreation, Sport and Culture, 3.2 percent
h. Restaurants and Accommodation Services, 8.8 percent
i. Personal Care and Miscellaneous Goods, 3.4 percent

Commodity Groups that showed lower inflation:

a. Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages, 8.8 percent
b. Transport, 3.5 percent

Other commodity groups that showed constant inflation:

a. Education Services, 0.8 percent
b. Financial Services, 0.0
