Bukidnon

The headline inflation in the Province of Bukidnon for April 2023 is lower at 7.3 percent from 8.5 percent in March 2023. The Inflation rate recorded in April 2022 was lower at 5.0 percent. The average inflation for 2023 is at 8.2 percent.

The main sources of the decrease of the April 2023 inflation are the commodity groups Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco at 7.9 percent from 8.8 percent; Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels at 11.3 percent from 14.8 percent; Furnishing, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance at 1.6 percent from 2.7 percent and Transport at 1.2 percent from 3.5 percent.

Selected Food Items also showed lower inflation, these are Corn at 6.6 percent from 8.7; Flour, Bread and other Bakery Products, Pasta Products and Other Cereals at 7.9 percent from 8.6 percent; Meat and other parts of Slaughtered Land Animals at 11.6 percent from 13.5 percent, Fish and Other Seafood at 8.1 percent from 11.7 percent and Sugar, Confectionery and Desserts at 38.9 percent from 43.0 percent.

The lower inflation of the commodity group Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels commodity group is attributed to the subgroup Maintenance, Repair and Security of the Dwelling at 1.6 percent; Electricity Gas and other Fuels at 9.1 percent; Water Supply and Miscellaneous Services Relating to the Dwellings at 0.0 and Actual Rentals for Housing at 14.6 percent. Another commodity group that showed a decrease in inflation is Transport that is attributed by the subgroups Purchases of Vehicle, 0.0 percent, Operation of Personal Transport Equipment, -9.7 percent and Passenger Transport Services, 18.2 percent. The lower inflation of the commodity group Furnishing, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance is attributed to subgroups Tools and Equipment for House and Garden, -19.8 percent; Glassware, Tableware and Household Utensils, 0.1 percent and Household Textiles, 0.0 percent.

Commodity Groups that showed higher inflation:

a. Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, 11.8 percent
b. Clothing and Footwear, 8.3 percent
c. Recreation, Sport and Culture, 3.4 percent
d. Personal Care and Miscellaneous Goods, 3.5 percent

Commodity Groups that showed lower inflation:

a. Food and Non-alcoholic Beverages, 7.9 percent
b. Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels, 11.3 percent
c. Furnishing, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance, 1.6 percent
d. Transport, 1.2 percent

Other commodity groups that showed constant inflation:

a. Health, 5.0 percent
b. Information and Communication, 2.1 percent
c. Education Services, 0.8 percent
d. Restaurants and Accommodation Services, 8.8 percent
e. Financial Services, 0.0
