Rice


In the first phase of January 2025, the average retail price of special rice decreased to PhP 57.00 per kilogram from PhP 57.52 per kilogram of second phase of December 2024. Meanwhile, well-milled rice increased to PhP 53.00 per kilogram from PhP 51.65 per kilogram of second phase of December 2024, and regular milled rice rose slightly to PhP 46.42 per kilogram from PhP 46.17 per kilogram of second phase of December 2024. Meat and Poultry

Beef with bones maintained its average retail price at PhP 285.00 per kilogram, while pure beef meat remained priced at PhP 420.00 per kilogram compared to second phase of December 2024. Meanwhile, pork meat prices increased: the average retail price of pork kasim rose to PhP 315.00 from PhP 305.00 per kilogram of second phase of December 2024, and pork liempo increased to PhP 336.00 from PhP 326.00 per kilogram of second phase of December 2024. However, pork meat with bones remained stable at PhP 280.00 per kilogram.

Dressed chicken also saw a price increase, rising from PhP 210.00 to PhP 220.00 per kilogram compared to second phase of December 2024. In contrast, medium-sized chicken eggs maintained their average retail price at PhP 9.92 per piece. (Figure 2 and Figure 3)

Fish

The average retail price of a kilogram of bangus remained at an average retail price of PhP 180.00 per kilogram. (see Figure 4)

 

 

 

 

 

Vegetables

The average retail prices of various vegetables showed mixed trends compared to second phase of December 2024. Ampalaya remained stable at PhP 115.00 per kilogram, while cabbage continued to decrease, reaching PhP 125.00 per kilogram. Carrots maintained a steady price of PhP 120.00 per kilogram, whereas eggplants saw a slight increase, rising to PhP 105.00 per kilogram. Baguio beans experienced a significant drop from PhP 160.00 to PhP 135.00 per kilogram, while pechay (native) remained unchanged at PhP 145.00 per kilogram. String beans also saw a slight decrease, falling from PhP 80.00 to PhP 75.00 per kilogram. Meanwhile, tomatoes continued to rise, reaching PhP 155.00 per kilogram, and white potatoes declined to PhP 125.00 per kilogram. (see Figure 5)

Condiments

Native garlic retained its average retail price at PhP 210.00 per kilogram, also Hawaiian ginger stabilized at an average retail price of PhP 225.00 per kilogram. (see Figure 6)

Fruits


Average retail prices of fruits remained stable during the first phase of January 2025. Lakatan bananas were priced at PhP 70.00 per kilogram, Latundan bananas at PhP 25.00 per kilogram, and papayas at PhP 45.00 per kilogram. (see Figure 7)

Other Commodities

Cooking oil maintained its average retail price at PhP 169.07 per liter, brown sugar maintained its average retail price at PhP 65.13 per kilogram, also refined sugar remained steady at PhP 80.75 per kilogram. (see Figure 8)
