Rice
In Misamis Occidental, the average retail price of special rice increased from PhP 59.00 to PhP 59.42 per kilogram during the first phase of March 2024. Meanwhile, well milled rice decreased its average retail price from PhP 54.50 to PhP 53.50 per kilogram. Also decreasing is the price of regular milled rice, from PhP 50.50 to PhP 51.00 per kilogram during the first phase of March 2024. (see Figure 1)
Meat and Poultry
There are no changes in the average retail price of meat and poultry, except for pure beef meat, in the province of Misamis Occidental as of the first phase of March 2024. Beef with bones still remains at PhP 270.00 per kilogram, while pure meat of beef decreases from PhP 386.00 to PhP 375.00 per kilogram. Moreover, pork kasim still at PhP 292.50 per kilogram, pork liempo at PhP 311.00 per kilogram, and pork meat with bones at PhP 205.00 per kilogram. Similar to meat products, poultry products like dressed chicken had no changes in their average retail price of PhP 177.50 per kilogram. (see Figure 2) Chicken egg (medium size) is still at PhP 9.29 per piece. (see Figure 3)
Bangus
A kilogram of bangus in Misamis Occidental dropped its average retail price atPhP 180.00 from PhP 200.00 per kilogram. (see Figure 4)
Vegetables
Most of the average retail prices of vegetables in Misamis Occidental remained stable during the first phase of March 2024. Ampalaya is still at PhP 75.00 per kilogram, the same price as in the second phase of February 2024; a kilogram of cabbage dropped to PhP 75.00 from PhP 90.00; carrots still at PhP 100.00 per kilogram; eggplants increased to PhP 70.00 per kilogram from PhP 60.00; baguio beans still at PhP 80.00 per kilogram; petchay (native) decreased from PhP 90.00 to PhP 85.00 per kilogram; string beans remained at PhP 60.00 per kilogram; also, tomato at PhP 90.00 per kilogram; and white potato at PhP 145.00 per kilogram. (see Figure 5)
Condiments
During the first phase of March 2024, native garlic maintained its average retail price at PhP 150.00 per kilogram. Also maintaining its average retail price is the Hawaiian ginger at PhP 85.00 per kilogram. (see Figure 6)
Fruits
Fruits in Misamis Occidental also maintained its average retail price during the second phase of February 2024. Banana (lakatan) at PhP 46.00 per kilogram, banana (latundan) at PhP 25.00 per kilogram and papaya at PhP 47.50 per kilogram. (see Figure 7)
Other Commodities
Also maintaining its average retail price during the first phase of March 2024 are cooking oil at PhP 163.92 per liter, brown sugar at PhP 62.00 per kilogram, and refined sugar at PhP 76.5 per kilogram. These average retail prices have been the same since the first phase of February 2024. (see Figure 8)
