Rice
During the first phase of May 2024, the average retail prices of rice decreased. Special rice dropped to PhP 58.70 per kilogram, well milled rice dropped to PhP 52.50 per kilogram and regular milled rice dropped to PhP 48.50 per kilogram during the said reference period. (see Figure 1)
Meat and Poultry
In the first phase of May 2024, beef with bones was still at PhP 260.00 per kilogram and pure beef meat maintained its rate at PhP 370.00 per kilogram. Meanwhile, pork kasim dropped its average retail price to PhP 272.50 per kilogram, and pork liempo remained constant at PhP 311.00 per kilogram. The price of pork meat with bones saw a slight increase from PhP 205.00 per kilogram to PhP 210.00. Dressed chicken continued at PhP 187.50 per kilogram. (see Figure 2) Chicken egg (medium size) maintained its average retail price at PhP 9.54 per piece. (see Figure 3)
Fish
A kilogram of bangus in Misamis Occidental increased considerably its average retail price at PhP 200.00 per kilogram from PhP 180.00 per kilogram. (see Figure 4)
Vegetables
Average retail prices of vegetables in Misamis Occidental remained unchanged, except for eggplant and Pechay(Native), during the first phase of May 2024. Ampalaya still at PhP 75.00 per kilogram; cabbage at PhP 75.00 per kilogram; carrots still at PhP 100.00 per kilogram; eggplants from PhP 60.00 to PhP 65.00 per kilogram; baguio beans still at PhP 80.00 per kilogram; pechay (native) at PhP 105.00 per kilogram from PhP 95.00; string beans remained at PhP 60.00 per kilogram; tomato still at PhP 90.00 per kilogram; and white potato at PhP 145.00 per kilogram. (see Figure 5)
Condiments
During the first phase of May 2024, native garlic maintained its average retail price at PhP 150.00 per kilogram. Also, Hawaiian ginger maintained its average retial price at PhP 140.00 per kilogram. (see Figure 6)
Fruits
Fruits in Misamis Occidental also maintained its average retail price during the first phase of May 2024. Banana (lakatan) at PhP 65.00 per kilogram, banana (latundan) at
PhP 25.00 per kilogram and papaya at PhP 52.50 per kilogram. (see Figure 7)
Other Commodities
Cooking oil maintained its average retail price at
PhP 163.92 per liter, brown sugar increase it average retail price from PhP 62.00 to PhP 70.00 per kilogram, while refined sugar still at PhP 76.50 per kilogram. (see Figure 8)
