20 October 2023, Jimenez, Misamis Occidental - The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Misamis Occidental Provincial Statistical Office recently conducted the 27th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) Provincial Elimination last 
19 October 2023.

Thirteen first-year freshmen students from five participating schools demonstrated their expertise in the field of statistics. The PSQ's objectives are to evaluate students' proficiency and skills in statistics for the secondary education curriculum, as well as to raise student interest in, and respect for statistics as well as to encourage support for all government statistical initiatives. 



Jovelyn L. Paderon emerged victorious as Provincial Champion, while Vic John Paul S. Damuag finished first runner-up, both were from Tangub City Global College and coached by Mr. Clint Joy Quije. In addition, Ahron G. Catada of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines - Oroquieta City Campus finished second runner-up, his coach was Mr. Pelmar M. Acosta.

The winners of the Provincial Eliminations will represent the province of  
Misamis Occidental in the Regional Championship on 10 November 2023 at Cagayan de Oro City.

Also present at the event was Mr. Ramel G. Ramayrat of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, who serves as the chairman of the Board of Judges, along with the members of the board, Dir. Noralaine R. Rasul of TESDA-Misamis Occidental, and Engr. Ma. Estela Sotera K. Carpio of the Philippine Ports Authority-Ozamiz City.

The Philippine Statistics Authority - Misamis Occidental Provincial Statistical Office congratulates winners for this exceptional achievement and wishes them the best in the upcoming regional-level contest.
