Bukidnon
The headline inflation in the Province of Bukidnon for January 2023 is at 8.3 percent, higher inflation rate from 7.3 percent in December 2022. The Inflation rate recorded from January 2022 was lower at 4.5 percent.
The main sources of acceleration of the January 2023 inflation are the commodity groups Food and Non-alcoholic Beverages from 8.9 percent to 11.1 percent, Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco from 2.7 percent to 4.5 percent, Clothing and Footwear at 0.8 percent from 0.2 percent and Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and other Fuels at 9.6 percent from 9.2 percent.
The Food Groups with higher inflation were Sugar, Confectionery and Desserts at 55.6 percent, Vegetables, Tubers, Cooking Bananas and Pulses at 29.4 percent, Meat and other parts of Slaughtered Land Animals at 18.5 percent, Oils and Fats at 12.3 percent, Milk, other Dairy Products and Eggs at 11.4 percent.
The acceleration in Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco commodity group was attributed to the subgroups Alcoholic beverages at 3.7 percent and Tobacco and other Vegetable-Based Tobacco products at 5.0 percent. Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and other Fuels was attributed to the inflation acceleration of subgroups Actual Rentals for Housing at 5.2 percent and Water Supply and Miscellaneous Services Relating to the Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels at 17.7 percent.
The subgroup Medicines and Health Products from commodity group Health also recorded a higher inflation at 2.9 percent.
Nine (9) Commodity Groups showed higher inflation:
a. Food and Non-alcoholic Beverages, 11.1 percent
b. Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco,4.5 percent
c. Clothing and Footwear, 0.8 percent
d. Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other fuels, 9.6 percent
e. Furnishing, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance, 1.1 percent
f. Health, 1.7 percent
g. Education Services, 0.8 percent
h. Personal Care and Miscellaneous Goods, 1.5 percent
Commodity Groups that showed lower inflation:
a. Transport, 8.0 percent
b. Recreation, Sport and Culture, 1.1 percent
Other commodity groups that showed constant inflation:
a. Information and Communication, 0.0 percent
b. Restaurants and Accommodation Services, 6.4 percent
