TABLE A. Year-on-Year Inflation Rates, All Items In Percent (2018=100)
Bukidnon
The headline inflation in Bukidnon had a slight increase of 0.2 percent from 5.0 percent in April 2022 to 5.2 percent in May 2022. Inflation rate in May 2021 was significantly lower at 3.8 percent. The average inflation for the first 5 months of 2022 is 4.6 percent.
Transport has the highest annual increase in the index that is 17.4 percent attributed to the Operation of Personal Transport Equipment inflation of 39.7 percent. Other significant increase is from Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas commodity group at 6.5 percent. Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages also contributed to the increase at 4.3 percent.
A Cereal product particularly Corn from the food group showed a double-digit annual increment of 17.1 percent. Sugar, Confectionery and Desserts at 11.5 percent.
Other food groups that exhibited higher annual increment during the month:
a. Meat and Other Parts of Slaughtered Land Animals, 8.6 percent
b. Fish and Other Seafood, 8.0 percent
c. Vegetables, Tubers, Cooking Bananas and Pulses, 5.4 percent
Annual increments were also observed in the following non-food commodity groups:
a. Furnishing, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance, 2.7 percent
b. Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, 2.3 percent
c. Personal Care and Miscellaneous Goods and Services, 2.3 percent
d. Recreation, Sport and Culture, 2.2 percent
Other commodity groups either retained their previous month’s inflation rates, or had negative percentage growths.
