The volume of production of major crops in Northern Mindanao reached 9.4 million metric tons (MT) in 2024, a 2.6 percent decrease from its volume of production in the previous year. (Table 1 and Figure 1)

The total production of major fruit crops registered at 3.8 million MT and showed a 1.8 percent decrease from 3.9 million MT production in 2023. Vegetables and Rootcrops, on the other hand, recorded a production of 739.5 thousand MT, equivalent to 10.2 percent decrease from 823.1 thousand MT production posted in the previous year.
Moreover, Non-Food and Industrial Crops (NFICs) also registered a decrease in the volume of production by 1.9 percent from the 5.0 million MT production in 2023 to 4.9 million MT in 2024. Among the three crop groups, NFICs accounted for the biggest share of 51.9 percent of the total major crop production, followed by fruit crops at 40.2 percent.

Among the provinces, Bukidnon recorded the highest major crops production in 2024, reaching 6.7 million MT. This was followed by Misamis Oriental (1.0 million MT) and Lanao del Norte (922.4 thousand MT). Camiguin, on the other hand, recorded the lowest crop production (101.4 thousand MT) in 2024. (Figure 2)
MAJOR FRUIT CROPS
Among provinces, Bukidnon had the highest production of 3.1 million MT or equivalent to 81.3 percent of the total major fruit crops production in the region. (Table 2 and Figure 3)

In 2024, banana posted the highest production, equivalent to 51.9 percent (2.0 million MT) of the total production of major fruit crops in the region. Pineapple ranked second with 46.6 percent share or 1.8 million MT. (Table 3)

All major fruit crops recorded a decline in production in 2024. Among major fruit crops, mango recorded the highest decrease in production (-5.7%), followed by banana (-3.1%) and calamansi (-2.2%). On the other hand, pineapple recorded the least decrease in production (-0.1%)

The major fruit crops production in Northern Mindanao from 2014-2024 showed a general increasing trend (Figure 4). The highest major fruit crops production was recorded in 2023, reaching 3.9 million MT.
MAJOR VEGETABLES AND ROOT CROPS
Northern Mindanao production of major vegetables and root crops reached 739.5 thousand MT during the year 2024, a 10.2 percent decrease from the 823.1 thousand MT production in 2023. Among provinces, Bukidnon (494.0 thousand MT) recorded the highest production of major vegetables and rootcrops, equivalent to 66.8 percent of the total regional production in 2024. This was followed by Misamis Oriental with 24.4 percent share or 180.2 thousand MT. On the other hand, Camiguin recorded the lowest regional share of 0.4 percent or 2.9 thousand MT. Among the major vegetables and root crops, fresh cassava tubers registered the highest decrease (-11.4%), followed by mongo (-6.9%). On the other hand, only onion (mature bulb) and peanut (with shell, dry) registered positive growths among major vegetables and rootcrops in 2024. (Table 5)
Fresh cassava tubers (85.7% or 633.4 thousand MT) accounted for the biggest share of the total production of major vegetables and root crops in the region in 2024. (Table 5)

The major vegetables and rootcrops production in Northern Mindanao from 2014-2024 showed a general decreasing trend (Figure 6). The highest major vegetables and rootcrops production was recorded in 2017 (834.4 thousand MT) while the lowest was registered in 2024.
MAJOR NON-FOOD AND INDUSTRIAL CROPS
Among provinces, Bukidnon (3.1 million MT or 63.9%) recorded the highest production of major non-food and industrial crops in 2024. This was followed by Lanao del Norte with 585.1 thousand MT or 11.9 percent share to the regional non-food and industial crops production. On the other hand, Camiguin recorded the lowest regional share. (Table 6 and Figure 7)

Sugarcane accounted for the highest 62.6 percent share (3.1 million MT) to the total regional production of major non-food and industrial crops. This was followed by coconut (with husk) which accounted for 36.9 percent share (1.8 million MT). (Table 7)

The major non-food and industrial crops production in Northern Mindanao from 2014 to 2024 fluctuated significantly over the years. The highest major NFICs production was recorded in 2017, reaching 6.4 million MT. (Figure 8)
