Misamis Oriental
The headline inflation of Province of Misamis Oriental has increased to 6.1 percent in June 2022, from 5.2 percent in the previous month. The inflation rate in July 2021 was lower at 3.2 percent. (Table A and Figure 1)
The increase of the province’s inflation was primarily influenced by the higher annual increase in the index for Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels at 7.9 percent; Transport at 15.1 percent; Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages at 6.3 percent; Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco at 3.9 percent.
Meanwhile, annual increase slowed down in the indices of furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance at 4.9 percent; Clothing and Foot wears at 2.5 percent. The rest of the commodity groups either retained their previous month’s inflation rates or had zero percent annual growths. (Table B)
Cagayan de Oro City
Similar to the trend at the province level the headline inflation of Cagayan de Oro City a highly urbanized city increased further to 6.7 percent in July 2022, from 5.8 percent in the previous month. The inflation rate in July 2021 was lower at 2.5 percent. (Table A and Figure 2)
The increase of the inflation was primarily influenced by the higher annual increase in the index for Transport at 23.6 percent; Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas, and Other Fuels at 5.5 percent; Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages at 6.6 percent; Personal Care, And Miscellaneous Goods and Services at 2.9 percent.
However, annual increase slowed down in the indices of Recreation Sports and Culture at 2.9 percent; Clothing and Footwear at 3.7 percent; Furnishings, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance at 6.1 percent. The rest of the commodity groups either retained their previous month’s inflation rates or had zero percent annual growths. (Table C)
