Bukidnon
The headline inflation in the Province of Bukidnon for May 2023 is lower at 6.8 percent from 7.3 percent in April 2023. The Inflation rate recorded in May 2022 was lower at 3.8 percent. The average inflation rate for 2023 is at 7.9 percent.
The main sources of the decrease of the May 2023 inflation are the commodity groups Food and Alcoholic Beverages at 7.2 percent from 7.9 percent; Clothing and Footwear at 8.2 percent from 8.3 percent; Transport at -1.3 percent from 1.2 percent and Recreation, Sport and Culture at 3.0 percent from 3.4 percent.
Several commodity groups also recorded a constant inflation for the month of April and May 2023 that contributed to the lower inflation.
The Selected Food Items that showed lower inflation were Corn at 4.8 percent from 6.6 percent; Meat and Other Parts of Slaughtered Land Animals at 7.3 percent from 11.6 percent; Fish and Other Dairy Products and Eggs at 10.5 percent from 10.7 percent; Vegetable, Tubers, Plantains, Cooking Bananas and Pulses at 16.3 percent from 16.4 percent and Sugar, Confectionery and Desserts at 36.7 percent from 38.9 percent.
Commodity Groups that showed higher inflation:
a. Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, 12.3 percent
b. Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels, 9.0 percent
Commodity Groups that showed lower inflation:
a. Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages, 7.2 percent
b. Clothing and Footwear, 8.2 percent
c. Transport, -1.3 percent
d. Recreation, Sport and Culture, 3.0 percent
Other commodity groups that showed constant inflation:
a. Furnishing, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance, 1.6 percent
b. Health, 5.0 percent
c. Information and Communication, 2.1 percent
d. Education Services, 0.8 percent
e. Restaurants and Accommodation Services, 8.8 percent
f. Personal Care and Miscellaneous Goods, 3.5 percent
g. Financial Services, 0.0 percent
