Camiguin's Economy Records 8.0 Percent Growth in 2022

The economy of Camiguin recorded a growth of 8.0 percent in 2022, an acceleration from the 4.7 percent growth in the previous year. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the province was estimated at PhP 11.10 billion in 2022. It slightly surpassed the pre-pandemic GDP level of PhP 11.08 billion in 2019. (Figure 1)

In 2022, Services accelerated by 13.1 percent compared to the previous year. Transportation and storage, Accommodation and food service activities, and Information and communication recorded the fastest-growing production activities at 37.8 percent, 29.7 percent, and 17.5 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, Industry decelerated by 4.0 percent, and Agriculture, forestry, and fishing recorded a decline of 4.5 percent in 2022 compared to the previous year.

The economy of Camiguin shared 1.2 percent to the economy of Northern Mindanao estimated at PhP 935.30 billion in 2022.
