Misamis Oriental, Northern Mindanao’s Third Largest Economy, Grows 6.3 Percent in 2023

The economy of Misamis Oriental expanded by 6.3 percent in 2023, a slowdown from the 9.1 percent growth in the previous year. The province’s economic growth translated to an additional value of PhP 9.92 billion to the economy, resulting to a total Gross Domestic Product (GDP) value of PhP 167.35 billion in 2023. (Figure 1)

Furthermore, Misamis Oriental was recorded as the third largest economy in Northern Mindanao, accounting for 17.0 percent of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). (Figure 2)

The per capita GDP of Misamis Oriental was valued at PhP 170,037 in 2023, a 5.3 percent growth from its 2022 level at PhP 161,550. The per capita GDP represents the estimated individual contribution of the province’s residents to its economy. (Figure 3)
