| Pursuant to Batas Pambansa Blg. 72, Executive Order No. 32, and Republic Act 10625, the Philippine Statistics Authority will conduct the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH) during the whole month of September. PSA X will deploy 6,285 census personnel throughout the region which includes field interviewers and field supervisors. The census personnel will be provided with the necessary PPE materials such as face masks, face shield, and alcohol as safety precautions against COVID-19. They are also instructed on the strict adherence to the health safety protocols such as physical distancing during interviews, wearing of PPEs and frequent washing of hands or use of alcohol. The 2020 CPH is a nationwide government undertaking that involves the collection, compilation, evaluation, analysis, publication, and dissemination of data on population count, and housing, household and barangay characteristics. It will be the 15th census of population and 7th census of housing in the Philippines. The 2020 CPH aims to provide the government planners, policy makers, and administrators with population and housing data as basis for the crafting of social and economic development plans, policies and programs for better service delivery and improved quality of life of the Filipino people.
