Rice
In the second phase of July 2024, the average retail prices of rice showed stability. Special rice retained its price at PhP 59.00 per kilogram, well-milled rice stayed at PhP 53.50 per kilogram, and regular milled rice remained steady at PhP 50.00 per kilogram throughout this period. (see Figure 1)
Meat and Poultry
there was a notable increase in the average retail prices of meat and poultry. Beef with bones rose to PhP 270.00 per kilogram from PhP 260.00, pure beef meat increased from PhP 370.00 to PhP 380.00 per kilogram, pork kasim remained steady at PhP 272.50 per kilogram, pork liempo surged from PhP 306.00 to PhP 361.00 per kilogram, pork meat with bones escalated from PhP 210.00 to PhP 250.00 per kilogram, while dressed chicken maintained its price at PhP 195.00 per kilogram. (see Figure 2) Chicken egg (medium size) had a slight changed on its average retail price at PhP 9.53 per piece. (see Figure 3)
Fish
In Misamis Occidental, the price of a kilogram of bangus has stabilized at an average retail price of PhP 190.00 per kilogram. (see Figure 4)
Vegetables
Ampalaya maintained its price at PhP 80.00 per kilogram, while cabbage saw a decrease from PhP 110.00 to PhP 80.00 per kilogram. Carrots experienced a slight decline from PhP 100.00 to PhP 95.00 per kilogram, eggplants remained steady at PhP 70.00 per kilogram, and baguio beans retained their price at PhP 120.00 per kilogram. Pechay (native) underwent a drop from PhP 105.00 to PhP 100.00 per kilogram, string beans were unchanged at PhP 60.00 per kilogram, tomatoes surged to PhP 118.00 from PhP 95.00 per kilogram, and white potatoes increased to PhP 150.00 from PhP 140.00 per kilogram. Condiments
During the first phase of July 2024, native garlic retained its average retail price at PhP 155.00 per kilogram, whereas Hawaiian ginger stabilized at an average retail price of PhP 200.00 per kilogram. (see Figure 6)
Fruits
In Misamis Occidental, the prices of fruits remained consistent in first phase of July 2024. Lakatan bananas were listed at PhP 70.00 per kilogram, Latundan bananas at a competitive PhP 25.00 per kilogram, and papayas at PhP 52.50 per kilogram. (see Figure 7)
Other Commodities
Cooking oil retained its average retail price at PhP 163.92 per liter, brown sugar saw a decrease in its average retail price from PhP 70.00 to
PhP 66.50 per kilogram, and refined sugar experienced a slight increase to PhP 77.00 per kilogram. (see Figure 8)
