The Philippine Statistics Authority – Misamis Oriental Provincial Statistical Office is in need of One (1) Assistant Statistician for the Augmented System for Travel Information using the GIS Technology (ASTIG Tech).

Position Title: Assistant Statistician
Place of Assignment: PSO – Misamis Oriental, Limketkai, Cagayan de Oro City
Salary Grade: SG 9
No. of Vacancy: 1
Employment Status: Contract of Service Worker (COSW)
Contract Duration: June 07 to October 31, 2023

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Eligibility: Preferably with CS Professional/2nd Level Eligibility
Education: Must be a college graduate
Training: None Required
Experience: None Required
Competencies:
1. Knowledgeable in Computer Operations specifically in ArcGIS or QGIS (Quantum Geographic Information System);
2. Preferably with experience in data processing, GIS – based mapping activities and in using GIS Software;
Others:
1. Preferably fully vaccinated (or received at least two doses of COVID-19 vaccine);
2. With Good Moral Character;
3. Willing to work beyond office hours, if necessary; and
4. With no existing work contract with other offices/agencies.
5. Physically Fit;

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Do research from various sources (e.g. transportation office, Tricycle Operator’s and Driver’s Association, internet) on travel information such as travel routes, fares, frequency and mode of travel, road condition;
  2. Encode the travel information in the ASTIG Tech app; and
  3. Plot and digitize the travel route using the ArcGIS Pro application.
