The Philippine Statistics Authority X conducts the 2021 Listing of Marine Fish Landing Centers (2021 LMFLC) from 01 to 30 September 2021. The 2021 LMFLC is a nationwide activity that will cover all cities and municipalities with existing landing centers.
The activity aims to generate an updated list of marine fish landing centers for the whole country, and to come up with a reliable and up-to-date sampling frame for commercial and municipal fisheries surveys.
The activity will also involve updating, listing and geotagging of all commercial and municipal fish landing centers. Only landing centers that are currently operational or temporarily closed will be geotagged.
Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI), wherein responses in a face-to-face interview are recorded in a tablet, will be utilized for the 2021 LMFLC.
PSA X deploys field personnel for this activity throughout the region. These personnel are provided with PSA identification cards, and necessary PPE materials such as face masks, face shields, and alcohol. They are also instructed to strictly adhere to health and safety protocols against COVID-19 such as physical distancing during interviews, wearing of PPEs, and frequent washing of hands or use of alcohol.
PSA X enjoins all landing center officials, fishermen, boat owners/operators, officers/members of the fisherfolk organizations, and traders/brokers at the fish landing centers in Region X to support the 2021 Listing of Marine Fish Landing Centers by providing the information needed.
