Bukidnon

The headline inflation in the Province of Bukidnon have increased from 6.0 percent in July 2022 to 6.5 percent in August 2022. Inflation rate from August 2021 was lower at 2.7 percent. The average inflation for 2022 is 5.1percent.

Though transport showed a decrease from 22.2 percent in July 2022 to 18.9 in August 2022, it is still the commodity group with the highest inflation among others. Operation of Personal Transport Equipment is a contributor for the decrease of transport group from 47.2 now at 34.3 percent.

The decrease in transport group however did not prevent the increase of the August 2022 inflation in Bukidnon because other commodity groups were observed to have a higher increase like Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and other Fuels from 6.3 percent in July to 9.5 percent in August 2022, Food and Non-Alcoholic beverages from 5.2 to 5.7 percent.

Other food groups that exhibited higher inflation during the month:

  1. Sugar, Confectionery and Desserts, 21.8
  2. Milk, Other Dairy Products, and Eggs, 6.7

Commodity Groups with Minimal or lower increases were also observed in the following commodity groups:

  1. Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, 3.2 percent
  2. Furnishing, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance, 2.9 percent
  3. Personal Care and Miscellaneous Goods, 2.3 percent
  4. Recreation, Sport and Culture 2.0 percent

Other commodity groups that showed constant inflation rates, or had negative percentage growths:

  1. Clothing and Footwear, 1.0
  2. Health, 0.9
  3. Information and Communication, 1.6
  4. Financial Services, 0.0
  5. Education Services, -0.1
  6. Restaurants and Accommodation Services, -0.1
